Cosy home
Some cosy christmas photos from my home
House fir (Araucaria heterophylla) is one of the few conifers to be used as a houseplant It has a reputation for being a bit difficult, but newer varieties are better able to withstand our dry stool air. It belongs to the Monkey family and in nature, ground spruce occurs only on the island of Norfolk Island between Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia. In English it is called Norfolk Island Pine although it is not a pine tree
In the wild, the ground spruce becomes 50 m, up to 65 m, high, with a neat erect stem and symmetrical branches In pots in a Danish living room, however, it can never reach such dimensions and will typically be between 50 cm and 2 m in height. Norfolk Island is a volcanic island in southern Melanesia between New Zealand and New Caledonia in the Pacific
